A Beautiful Spring Day...

I admit it....Spring is not one of my most favorite seasons. I'm really more of a Fall kinda gal I suppose. I will admit that the older I get I have learned to somewhat appreciate Spring a bit more. Minus the horrendous allergies and it's not so bad! I snapped these shots outside my front door the other day...in between blowing my nose and sneezing I managed to get something that didn't turn out to shabby! I hope you all are enjoying this wonderful Memorial Day weekend! And a big thank you to all the military folks who gave so much for this great country of ours!

 

Much needed vacation!

It was 3 years ago since we had a trip away from home. Wayyyyy to long! Me and the hubby accompanied by the dogs took a long weekend and drove the CA coast from Monterey to Laguna Beach. If you've never seen the CA coast line I promise it will knock your socks off! It is without a doubt breath taking! Surprisingly not overly crowded either. It was just what we needed to recharge our outlook on life. Now we're back home and back to reality. Time to unpack and chisel the dog drool of the windows. What is that stuff made of anyway? LOL!

This was on the "17 Mile Drive" at Pebble Beach. The homes there....oh my! All of them spectacular beyond belief!

Rolex? For a street clock? Ummm...yea.

 

I looked for Tiger Woods but no luck.

Oh yes....Malibu. I wanna live here. I don't care if I live in a cardboard box...as long as its here!

 

 

Hayfever Thursday

 

Sniff…sniff…blooowwww!  Arghhh!  I really hate allergy season.  I should have some stock in kleenex…seriously.  I have been MIA from this here bloggy blog for a bit.  Didn’t do much but work, commute to work, and commute home.  The job sucked up all my fun time!  Now that I’m jobless again I guess I will have some free time…probably more free time than I really care to have.  I decided last week that I would take a shot again at selling my painted portraits on Etsy.  I did this last year about this same time and business actually started to pick up.  Then I got a “real” job and I didn’t have the time to devote to painting so to the back burner it went.  Dang jobs just keep putting a cramp in my style.  If it weren’t for the need to put a roof over my families head and food on the table I’d probably never work.  I’d be a free spirit so to speak.  Probably more like a bag lady living in a cardboard box. Happy Thursday everyone!

 

I decided to play with this image of my beeuteeful granddaughter…She is away visiting family for a whole month and I miss her terribly.

Here is the finished painting…done in Photoshop CS5.  I was being lazy and didn’t paint the background like I normally do.  I’m so excited to upgrade to CS6 I can hardly stand it!
